Vernal Equinox: Springing Forth Anew

The vernal equinox marks the entrance of Spring; of nature awakening from its long wintery slumber, stirring in the earth its seeds and saplings to shoot and reach to the returning sunshine and warmth.

The astrological new year beginning with Aries at this time also affirms the cardinal fiery impulse of things to break the ice and frosts of Old Man Winter and herald in renewed enthusiasms and courages as we exalt that Sun and it exalts us right back.

The equinox is also a time we weigh day and night as equal, and offers us opportunity for balanced reflection on what may help and what may hinder us in our coming year.

In this talk, contemporary cunning-man and historian of magic Dr. Alexander Cummins will lead us in a celebration of the mysteries, poetry, and spirituality associated with this newly greening season: from spring cleaning and practical works of renewal and revitalization to druidic rites and shrines for Ostara. By the gamboling of lambs and the trumpeting of daffodils, may we spring forth anew!
